Top Five Towns for Investors in the Bay Area

The San Francisco Bay Area is one of the fastest growing areas of the country and a major attraction for real estate investors. For an investor looking to purchase residential property in the Bay Area, there are a number of opportunities that are priced below market value and which can be very attractive to renters making for an excellent investment opportunity. If you're looking to purchase a property below market value and get it rented out quickly to immediately start recuperating a return on your investment, consider buying in one of the following Bay Area towns:

This town is close to major tech employers such as AMD and National Semiconductor which attract many new employees and likewise will attract renters making for a prime area to invest in rental property. Housing prices in Sunnyvale range rather significantly but tend to be in the average price of about $530 per square foot. There are a number of foreclosures and bank-owned properties in the area which may be able to be purchased below market value making for a potentially easier return on investment.

Mountain View

Mountain View is convenient to the South Bay area as well as to the Peninsula and there are a number of software companies in the town of Mountain View itself which attract new residents to the area. Homes are generally priced comparable to those in Sunnyvale and those which are priced well below market value get purchased rather quickly so for an investor, it's important to jump on these homes quickly as they come up. Convenience attracts renters to the area so this is a good starting point for recuperating a return on investment.

San Jose

Downtown San Jose is ideal for investment property purchases as this area attracts literally thousands of renters coming into the area to attend local colleges. College students find the prime location attractive and investors can appreciate the relatively affordable home prices in the area which almost immediately begin to cash flow even with a small investment. There are many bargains that come up in the area and renting properties out in San Jose tends to go relatively quickly.

Home prices are relatively affordable in Fairfield and there tend to be a number of options in the area for investors who are willing to purchase and put a little money into the home before renting it out. There is no rent control in the area and rights generally work in the landlord's (investor's) favor in this Bay Area town making it an attractive point to invest money if you are looking to turn a profit by renting out the property.

Properties in this area tend to be relatively low priced and there are a number of options to choose from for investors. A positive cash flow should be assumed within a rather short amount of time with an investment in the Brentwood area and the family oriented neighborhoods here attract many young, aspiring couples with children who are looking to rent.
