Lincoln University: Preparing Students for the Modern World

By Robert Dellamano

At a breathtakingly beautiful historic building - one of the landmarks of Oakland - located in the center of this lively growing city, Lincoln University provides a unique academic environment for the students from over 50 countries around the world. Founded in 1919 as a private, non-profit, non-sectarian educational institution, Lincoln University is a modern community of learning in the Bay Area, with members, including faculty, students and administration, holding a variety of cultural backgrounds. At Lincoln University, students are emboldened to be intellectually curious in the pursuit of knowledge and the understanding of both cultural differences and similarities. Through focused studies and uncommon interactions, students are encouraged to be serious in their efforts to find solutions to the numerous problems of the world today.

Lincoln University offers students individual attention that they would not find at a large state university - with most classes falling between 10 and 30 students. The University concentrates on high-quality education in the fields of business and health studies, and all of the courses offered are taught by distinguished professors with business or professional experience in their fields. Most of them hold doctoral degrees. In addition, affordable tuition and fees make Lincoln University one of the most cost-effective universities in the Bay Area, as well as in the USA.

Lincoln University's mission has always been to provide a synthesis of innovative and traditional education leading to outstanding professional opportunities for American and international students. To that end, graduate and undergraduate programs in business studies with a variety of concentration areas as well as an undergraduate program in medical diagnostic imaging and an ultrasound technician certificate program have been developed to guide students to an entry point into successful careers and tools for professional development. Constant growth and academic expansion are characteristics of the school, and students are well prepared to enter a competitive job market with the necessary skills to meet the needs of the contemporary workplace.
