Free Fall to the Pacific - Skydive Surfcity

By Vanessa Nason

Incredible views, high safety ratings, and nonstop fun - what more could you want from a skydiving company? At Skydive Surfcity in Watsonville, CA, you'll get all of the above, plus some unforgettable memories.

"We are the closest skydiving operation to the ocean," says owner and operator Volker Haag. "So our coast views are majestic!" Being right in the center of Monterey Bay means a scenic plane ride and an incredible view of the Pacific ocean and surrounding landscape on your way down.

Nervous jumpers don't need to worry, as Skydive Surfcity assures everyone a safe experience. "In the US an instructor is 'only' required to have a minimum of 500 jumps experience before getting an Instructor rating," says Haag. "Skydive Surfcity's instructors have on average an experience level of 8,000 jumps." This translates into an excellent safety record.

On top of all of this, they assure minimal wait times and high-quality photo and video packages showcasing your experience from start to finish. No experience is necessary as they specialize in first time jumpers. And their fun crew is up for anything and will always show you and your group a great time.

"We've had a bunch of 80-year-old birthdays," says Haag. "It is always fun to take people in that age group. The oldest one we have ever taken on a tandem skydive was a 92-year-old lady."

A few years ago, one couple even got married in free fall. Skydive Surfcity's owner became an ordained minister just to perform the service. "We are proud to say that Skydive Surfcity conducted the world's first same-sex in free fall wedding," says Haag.

Whether in the area or a tourist visiting, Skydive Surfcity is a popular location for thrill seekers of all ages. Always fun and always safe, Skydive Surfcity is the perfect place for the adventure of a lifetime.
