Bodyrok Provides High Intensity, Low-Impact Workouts That Will Truly Sculpt and Redefine Your Body

By S. Mathur

One problem that all fitness and exercise routines face is the dreaded plateau, when the workouts get familiar and boring, and there is a decline in visible results. But not at Bodyrok Studios, where members find that workouts are always challenging and intense. With focused instructors and a beautiful space, classes are always sold out and waiting lists for spots are full.

What makes a Bodyrok workout unique? Katie Panas, Instructor, says that a mixture of factors make Bodyrok workouts addictive: "Bodyrok offers Full Body workout unlike any other in just 40 minutes. Our state of the art propriatery machines allow for low impact exercises while forcing constant muscle engagement and offering a high intensity workout."

She also credits the studio space and the high energy instructors: "Our studios are beautiful, light filled, and clean with excellent customer service - from our lockers, to towel service, to the hands on adjustments from our talented instructors. Our classes are efficient, low impact, and results driven, allowing our members to make the most of their time with us."

Bodyrok opened in 2012 and now has four locations in the Bay Area and one near San Diego. The franchise is open for further expansion. Panas says that "We saw an opportunity to open a unique concept that would support the Bay Area community at a time when Boutique fitness had not yet been recognized."

The studio offers classes in Sculpt, Cycle and Yoga. These complement each other and provide all the benefits of cross training under one roof. The Sculpt class is an intensified makeover of a traditional reformer Pilates routine, with added strength training and music to keep the energy going for 40 minutes. The cycling classes are also 40 minutes and perfect for cardio junkies.

The 50-minute combination Sculpt and Cycle class gives you the best of both worlds. All classes are tailored for beginners and advanced students, though it's best to begin with the Sculpt or Cycle classes before going for the combination.

Some locations also offer yoga classes. The physical benefits include toning and lengthening muscles, improved flexibility and balance, and greater strength. The mental and emotional benefits of yoga bring the entire body into harmony.

The BodyROK app gives students access to their member profiles, updated schedules for all Bodyrok Locations, class signups, instructor biographies, and package purchase options. It even sends notifications about class scheduling.

The ideal number of classes per week is 3 or 4, but instructors are glad to see those who show up everyday too. The unlimited class package is exactly that, offering access to all classes. Many students consider it the best place to work out in San Francisco, and the studio's popularity may prove them right.
